Did you know that October 3-8 is International Customer Service Week?
The International Customer Service Association began Customer Service Week
in 1988. In 1992 the U.S. Congress proclaimed Customer Service Week a nationally
recognized event, which is celebrated annually during the first full
week in October. This is a national event devoted to recognizing the
importance of customer service and honoring the people on the frontlines of the
service revolution. More information on this annual industry event is available
at the Customer Service Week website at http://www.CSWeek.com
Great customer service is critical to all of us. I suggest you take this
opportunity to thank a customer service representative for all they do for your
company to help retain customers!
Our first Monthly Networking session:
Did you meet someone new at the meeting? Were you one of the prize winners? If
you have job opportunities, this is a great time to meet qualified candidates
so bring those job descriptions with you to the November meeting. (Due to the
EMC tour, we will not have a formal Networking session at the October meeting.)
What’s coming up in October?
20th: Our tour of EMC Corporation. What a great opportunity
this will be! Book your spot early by going to our website.
16th - 18th : Member Value Leadership Summit: I
will be representing our section at this ASQ national event. The purpose of the
event is to consider the Future of ASQ and Quality: An introspective look at
the ASQ Vision, and future direction of ASQ and quality. Questions to be
explored include:
What are our members’ needs today and in the future? What value do we try to
provide to members, and how do we provide it? Why people become ASQ members, or
renew as members? What does it mean to our members, as we as leaders and
quality professionals, strive to make the Vision, and the future direction of
the Society, a reality? I would like your thoughts on these topics. Please
email me at ann.warmuth@staples.com.
