Our Recertification Chair & Examining Chair
Hello, my name is Tom Murtagh and for the past 5 years, I have been serving as
the ASQ Worcester Section’s Recertification Chair and Examining Chair. These
positions have been both rewarding and have allowed me to get to know quite a
few people in our section community. I have been a member of ASQ since 1994 and
am certified as a CQE, CQA, CQT, and CMI and am planning to add the CMQ in the
near future.
I have worked in Quality for the past 24 years and have held Quality Engineer,
Technician and Inspector positions at various companies such as Bose
Corporation, ADE Corporation and Cisco Systems. Currently, I work at New
England Precision Grinding in Holliston, MA. In various companies, I have been
involved in ISO9000, QS9000 and ISO13485 system registration activities.
I have lived in the town of Framingham my entire life and have two children,
Denise (19) and Jessica (21). My main interest in life is music and I go to
many live concert shows of all genres throughout the year. I also like to bake
for gatherings of family and friends.

Our Programs Chair
I’m Jay Patel and I am the 2005-2006 the ASQ Worcester Section Programs Chair.
I have ten ASQ certifications besides RAB and AIAG certifications. I am serving
professional organizations for the last 25 years. I have served PMI, IIE, ASQ,
and NEQC by volunteering, teaching, and being a presenter.
For the past 10 years I have been working for my own company, Quality & Productivity Solution.
My services include providing consulting and training to businesses. In the
past I have worked for GE, Cabot Safety, Carrier, and Allied Signal. I have
over 25 years of experience in management, operations, and quality assignments.
I love teaching and helping professionals and companies in improving for a
better future. I enjoy reading and I believe “knowledge is power”.
I have a lovely family; a wife and two children. I am also closely connected with 5
sisters and 3 brothers and their families. I am a native of India and each year
I visit and meet hundreds of people.
